THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF ROCHESTER DIAPER BANK HOSTS DRIVE-THRU DIAPER DISTRIBUTION on November 16, 2023

(Rochester, N.Y. – 11/10/2023) The Junior League of Rochester Diaper Bank (JLR Diaper Bank) is hosting a drive-thru diaper distribution in partnership with Genesee Regional Bank on Thursday, November 16th from 5:30pm-7:30pm. The drive-up event will be held at GRB offices, 1850 South Winton Rd, Rochester, NY. Diapers are free of charge and no pre-registration is needed for this event. The distribution is on a first-come-first-served basis, with a limit of two packs of diapers per child. Diaper sizes newborn to 6 as well as toddler sizes 2T-3T through 4T-5T will be available. 

1 in 2 Rochester families face diaper need. Infants require about 12 diapers per day, which can cost over $100 per month per baby. Government programs—including food stamps & WIC—do not provide funding for diapers. Compared to similar sized cities, Rochester has the highest rate of childhood poverty, with more than half of children living in poverty.

The JLR Diaper Bank opened its doors in 2017 and is the sole diaper bank in Rochester. Each month the JLR Diaper Bank distributes over 25,000 diapers to its 43 partner agencies.
