JUNIOR LEAGUE OF ROCHESTER SHOWCASES BEST OF ROCHESTER BRUNCH AT 2017 BATTLE OF THE BRUNCHES

Proceeds benefit the community development programs of the Junior League of Rochester

(Rochester, N.Y. March 2, 2017) The Junior League of Rochester (JLR) is hosting its first annual, SOLD OUT, Battle of the Brunches this Saturday, March 4th from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Arbor Loft in Downtown Rochester (17 Pitkin Street.) Battle of the Brunches is a new fundraising event for the JLR, featuring 15 of the city’s best restaurants offering tastings of their most popular brunch items in a festive atmosphere. Participating restaurants include Black Button Distilling, Canal Town Coffee Roasters, Donuts Delite, Get Caked Bakery, Joe Bean, ORBS Restaurant and Bar, Ox and Stone, Roc Brewing Co., Scratch Bakery, Simply Crepes, Soul Juicin’, The Red Fern, Three Heads Brewing, Ugly Duck Coffee, and West Edge Restaurant & Bar. A cash bar will offer a selection of mimosas, bellinis, and bloody marys.

Designed to showcase Rochester’s up-and-coming restaurant scene, Battle of the Brunches provides attendees the opportunity to cast a vote for their favorite items in several brunch categories, including donuts, coffee, and breakfast sandwiches. There will also be a panel of celebrity judges, including Tracy Schumacher, Food and Drink Reporter, Democrat & Chronicle @RahChaChow, Sarah Knight, founder of ROC Girl Gang, Simone Boone, owner of Apogee Wine Bar, Stephanie Hanna, Food Blogger @sipandsavourroc and Paul Guglielmo, owner of Guglielmo Sauce and Producer On-Air at iHeartMedia Inc. Linh Phillips, Food Blogger @sirrochasays will serve as Honorary Hostess.

In addition to tasting samples from participating restaurants, attendees will also enjoy a lively environment with a DJ and multiple raffles and giveaways. All proceeds from the 2017 Battle of the Brunches benefit the JLR’s community service initiatives and volunteer programs in the greater Rochester area.
