Junior League of Rochester To Offer Its First Women’s Communication Workshop
The Organization Will Host A Training on Assertive Communication

ROCHESTER, N.Y., August 1, 2019 – As a new fundraising and training event for the Junior League of Rochester (JLR), the organization will host a women’s assertive communication workshop on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Strathallan Hotel & Spa.

Junior League of Rochester Presents Bossing Up with Emilie Aries will be an interactive workshop led by Emilie Aries, Founder and CEO of Bossed Up (www.bossedup.org), an innovative personal and professional training organization focused on helping women craft sustainable careers. Emilie will explain the difference between assertive and aggressive behavior, and the many benefits of asserting yourself, strategically, at work. The workshop is inspired by the JLR’s mission to develop the potential of women and improve the community through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.

“Being assertive is essential for leadership,” says Emilie Aries. “Data reveals that assertive communicators are more likely to be seen as leaders, but the quality of assertiveness is complicated for women who are often deemed less likeable for demonstrating this leadership characteristic.”

Tickets for Junior League of Rochester Presents Bossing Up with Emilie Aries are on sale now and can be purchased at http://bit.ly/JLRPresentsBossingUp. All funds raised will benefit the JLR’s community service initiatives and volunteer programs.
